Abstract

Objective To explore the application of continuous nursing intervention in the treatment of patients with COPD. Methods A total of 108 cases of COPD patients using a random number table were divided into intervention group and control group. A total of 59 cases in the control group received routine care, while the patients of the intervention group were given continuous nursing intervention based on routine care, then we analyzed two groups of patients hospitalized satisfaction degrees, the average length of stay, life Event Scale, Social Support Rating Scale and Quality of Life Rating Scale by using statistical methods. Results The score of LES scale acquired (36.3±26.8) lower than that of the control group(48.9±21.5), while the total score of social support was (40.7±8.1) higher than all those in the control group (t=-2.817, 3.511; P<0.01). After intervention, the scores of SF-36 scale and each dimensions in the intervention group were higher than these of the control group (t=3.757, 4.935, 3.526, 2.271, 3.694, 3.853, 2.558, 5.725; P<0.05); the patient′s satisfaction of hospitalization was 96.61% in the intervention group (57/59) while it was 72.88% in the control group (43/59) (χ2=5.983, P<0.01); but on the opposite trend, the days of hospitalization was (8.32±0.18) d in the intervention group and (20.32±0.64) d in the control group (t=15.922, P<0.01). Conclusions Continued nursing intervention promoted the cure of COPD and improved the quality of life of patients. Key words: Pulmonary disease, chronic obstruction; Quality of life; Continuous nursing intervention
