Abstract
AbstractMy intention is to sketch out a few fluctuating realities of Gloria Anzaldua’s theoretical and ideological influence in Mexico’s academic scene, zooming in on my discursive site of situated knowledge in Central Mexico, specifically Mexico City and the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. Following the dust prints of Anzaldua’s concept of the Coyolxauhqui Imperative—which could be said to characterize Anzaldua’s post-Borderlands writing—what she terms the “necessary process” of “dismemberment and fragmentation” and of “reconstruction and reframing,” I hope to illustrate this summarily by means of several scenarios related to borders and border-crossing, bridge-building, and (im)migration issues.
