Abstract
In the article, I describe a number of counter-hegemonic practices (related to the notion of cultural institution, economy, art and group management/group process which constitute the basis of the collective collaboration at the Węgajty Theatre) observed over the years. The experience I gathered for several years as an employee at the Theatre Village festival, as a member of the Flying Village Collective and as a participant in the Different Theatre School workshops and in a number of other Węgajty Theatre activities, allowed me to observe an alternative to the practices existing in public cultural institutions such as self-management, performance preparation, working with actors as well as the audience. These practices, noted both at the level of artistic expression and tactical organizational activities during events such as Theatre Village, are of interest to me primarily because of their inclusive, social and, by definition, empowering character.
