Abstract
The article analyses the latest U.S. research papers in the area of antitrust policy. The key trends and global challenges for U.S. antimonopoly policy in digital economy are provided. Many traditional instruments of competition policy have turned out to be outdated in digital economy. Antitrust regulation needs to be revisited. The U.S. experience that is considered in the article outlines new topics in this sphere, namely: definition of relevant product market; dominant firm position; abuses of digital market power; competition and monopoly effects in online interactions; innovation and market power under digitalization. A new paradigm in the U.S. antimonopoly policy, that is, investigation of firms’ behaviour instead of pure market structure, is considered. The antitrust regulation in the USA is under transformation from a whipping tool into a coordination consultant aimed at development of fair competition under real and virtual rivalry.
