Abstract

Usnea florida (L.) Wigg. which were collected from Erzurum-Oltu region. have been tested in respect of their antimicrobial and antifungal activities against different test organisms by the steril paper disc method. As a result of study, we found that Usnea florida (L.) Wigg. revealed antimicrobial against some bacteria (Escherichia coli ATCC 11230. Enterobacter aerogenes CCM 2531. Staphylococcus aureus 6538 P. Staphylococcus epidermidis. Bacillus subtilis La 2114. Bacillus cereus var. mycoides. Bacillus sphaericus. Bacillus megaterium and Mycobacterium smegmatis RUT) but had no antifungal activity against fungi used in the study.
