Abstract

Recently, a nutritional survey shows that obesity is rising and has increasingly become an issue of concern. The said survey also showed that obesity was higher among night shift adult workers than those of day adult workers. This study determined the anthropometric and dietary habits of thirty (30) male and (30) female call center agents in Cagayan de Oro City. Detecto Balance Beam and a wellness tape measure was used in taking the actual measurement of the respondents. In determining the respondents’ individual dietary habit, Dietary Record or Food Diary approach was used. Males were shown to have a higher prevalence of overweight than females. Females have a high prevalence of obesity than males. All respondents eat more than their recommended calorie intake per day. Majority of the male respondents have been shown to have a normal category of waist circumference based on WHO cut-off points while results of female respondents were above the WHO cut-off points. These findings prove there is a need for nutrition education among shift call center agents. Keywords : anthropometric, dietary habits, shift workers, overweight
