Abstract

ABSTRACT The mechanosensitivity of the antennule is studied with the aid of a behavioral test. The mechanosensitivity of each type of seta is tested with the aid of a similar behavioral test. We also study the effect of tactile and hydrodynamic stimuli on the morphology of various antennular setae. The results of these experiments are discussed in relation to the electron microscopy observations on the structure of the antennular setae.
