Abstract

The dynamical conductivity of a metal around its antiferromagnetic instability is calculated considering the scattering of conduction electrons by spin fluctuations within the Born approximation. The spin fluctuations are treated by the self-consistent renormalization (SCR) theory, which properly describes the physical properties of systems around their magnetic instabilities. The results generally show significant deviations from the Drude behavior especially in their high frequency tails.
