Abstract
It is shown that calculations of the anomalous dimensions of Weinberg operators simplify greatly in the background-field gauge using the operator formalism of Novikov, Shifman, Vainshtein, and Zakharov. Calculations of the third- and fourth-order cases are studied as examples; a recipe is provided for the calculations of arbitrarily large orders. The implications of the results for the fourth-order Weinberg operators are briefly discussed.
