Abstract

Abstract The analysis of the presence of a double peaking in the prompt coincidence curves obtained with a Ge(Li) detector and a scintillation counter shows that the distortion may be attributed to charge carriers trapped in the dead layers of the semiconductor counter and that this phenomenon does not lead to a worsening of the energy resolution.
