Abstract
The effects the pH and the zinc content exert on the anodic behavior of Cu−Zn alloys in 0.1 M NaClO4 (pH 2–9.5) are studied. A mechanism of anodic dissolution of brasses, which takes into account the changes in the solution’s pH, is put forward.
