Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of epidural anesthesia combined with general anesthesia in radical resection of rectal cancer. Methods A total of 100 patients with rectal cancer in Shanxi Provincial Cancer Hospital from January 2017 to January 2019 were selected as the study subjects.The 100 patients were divided into study group and control group by random number table method, with 50 cases in each group.The control group underwent general anesthesia. The study group received epidural anesthesia combined with general anesthesia. The effect of epidural anesthesia combined with general anesthesia in radical resection of rectal cancer was analyzed. Results The mean arterial pressure and heart rate at different time points in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The postoperative blink time and response time were significantly lower in the study group than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of anesthesia-related adverse reactions in the study group (8.00%) was higher than that in the control group (24.00%), there was significant difference (P< 0.05). Conclusions The application of general anesthesia combined with epidural anesthesia for the effective and safe operation of rectal cancer radical surgery is beneficial to the patient’s anesthesia effect and prognosis.
