Abstract

Anatomical evaluation on four species and three subspecies of Isatis ( I. lusitanica, I. bushiana, I. cochlearis, I .tinctoria, I. cappadocica subsp. macrocarpa, I.cappadocica subsp. besseri, cappadocica subsp. subridaita ). Was achieved the results revealed the differences between the stem and the leaf anatomy of species and subspecies. In the stem was measured the thickness of epidermis, collenchyma layers, cortex, xylem, phloem and pith and there were difference between the species and subspecies. In the leaf was measured the thickness of cuticle, Upper epidermis, Lower epidermis, Palisade layer, Spongy layer, , Vascular bundle in midrib and vascular bundle in lamina. The shape of stems and the midribs are difference between species and subspecies.
