Abstract
Being the carrier of urban economic activities, urban construction land also has its ecological service value. As a result, it is paid more and more attention to research on urban construction land changes and its influential factors in recent years. This research takes urban construction land of 15 cities in Yangtze River Delta as objects, and aims at analyzing rules of urban construction land changes and the influential factors between 2000 and 2008. In the process of researching, some statistical methods are adopted, such as multiple linear regressions constructing model and cluster analysis. The results are that, (1) the urban construction land of the whole Yangtze River Delta increases largely, and the increasing speed is very fast. (2) The trend of increasing speed drops slowly, and takes on difference in different stages. (3) The differences of construction land changes are obvious among the 15 cities in Yangtze River Delta. (4) The correlation coefficients are the biggest between urban construction land and urban population, and bigger between the urban construction land and fixed assets investment. Growing of population and increasing of fixed assets investment are the important driving force to the changes of urban construction land.
