Abstract

To analyze the dynamic eddy loss of a low-power proportional solenoid, a two-dimensional finite element model based on eddy current field theory was proposed. Based on finite element analysis, the distribution of eddy current of the conductors was predicted, and the influence of both exciting frequency and conductivity of conductors on the distribution of eddy current was discussed. Then, the relation curves of eddy loss versus exciting frequency and conductivity of conductors were calculated and analyzed respectively. Simulation results show that the distribution of eddy current tends to be accordant as either the exciting frequency increases or the conductivity of conductors decrease, and eddy loss has different trends versus exciting frequency and conductivity of conductors.
