Abstract
Objective To evaluate the psychological and social function in eolostomy patients, and to analysis its influential factors. Methods One hundred and sixty colostomy patients were investigated by the quality of life instruments for cancer patients-eoloreetal cancer (QLICP-CR) in the three grade 3 and first-class hospitals of Shanghai, and the influential factors were analyzed. Results One hundred and sixty questionnaires were issued and 156 questionnaires were responsive with an effective response rate of 97. 5%. The scores of social function were respectively (69. 44 ±5.93), (58.63 ± 3. 34), (53.33 ± 3.21 ), (66. 31 ± 2. 39) ,which were less than one month, within one to six months, within six to twelve months, more than one year after operation, the scores of social support were respectively (75.00 ± 7. 73 ), (56. 25 ± 5.40), (53.75 ± 4. 58 ), (71.74 ± 3.33 ), and the scores of social function and social support in patients were compared at difference times, and the differences were statistically significant ( F = 3.76,4. 34, respectively; P 〈 0. 05 ). In the field of psychological function and social function, the patients whose ostomy bag were changed by the doctors and nurses got the highest score, and the patients whose ostomy bag were changed by themselves got the higher score, and the patients whose ostomy bag were changed by earegivers got the lower score, and no difference was found in the three group (P 〉 0. 05 ). The scores of economic effects in the patients whose ostomy bag were respectively changed by themselves, earegivers, doctors and nurses were (53.98 ± 4. 53 ), (51.09 ± 4.71 ), (75.00 ± 5.89), and the difference was found in the three groups ( F = 4.43 ; P 〈 0.05 ), and the patients whose ostomy bag were changed by the doctors and nurses got the higher scores of economic effects. Conclusions Keeping attention to 'impart the knowledge of eolostomy related nursing to the eolostomy patients and their earegivers can improve their seff-earo abilities, and make the patients lapse to positive psyehologieal and social function, so as to realize the goals of extending their overall survival and improving their quality of life.
