Abstract

The Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture legislates Barru Regency in South Sulawesi as a Bali cattle breeding. The purpose of this study calculates the feasibility of the Bali cattle breeding business. The research conducted in Tanete Riaja District, Barru Regency, South Sulawesi. The number of respondents is 75 farmers determined by purposive sampling. This study used survey methods and data collected by observation and interviews using a questionnaire. Primary data such as the characteristics of respondents, component and price of inputs and outputs. The feasibility analysis of the Bali cattle breeding business used the Net Present Value (NPV), Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period (PP). The results show the Bali cattle breeding business with average ownership of 3 cows and a five-years investment period is workable with an NPV value of IDR 9,099,674, BCR of 1.22, IRR of 16.85% and PP for 4.40 years.
