Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect and advantages of ziprasidone long-term intervention in the treatment of schizophrenia. Methods From May 2016 to April 2017, 62 patients with schizophrenia were randomly divided into control group (n = 30) and observation group (n = 32), risperidone and ziprasidone were given respectively to compare the therapeutic effects of the 2 groups. Results The total score of WMSRC and memory quotient of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group after 8 weeks of treatment (P<0.05). During the follow-up period, the total incidence of adverse drug reactions was 12.50% and the relapse rate was 3.13% in the observation group, which were significantly lower than 53.33% and 20.00% in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Ziprasidone long-term intervention for patients with schizophrenia can improve the cognitive function of patients to a greater extent, effectively reduce the relapse rate, with fewer adverse drug reactions and more ideal overall control effect of the disease. Key words: Schizophrenia; Ziprasidone; Risperidone; Long-term intervention
