Abstract

In this paper the influence of DG on the level of short circuit currents in different connection nodes on and near the territory of a wind park (interface nodes) is analyzed. Four types of short circuit currents (three-phase short-circuit current, two-phase short circuit current, two-phase short-circuit current with ground and single-phase short circuit current) are analyzed in different locations of existing electrical network. For calculations and simulation of short circuit currents, DigSilent PowerFactory software package has been used, with which the turbine park has been modeled for the simulation and calculation of fault currents. The Kitka Wind Turbine Park operates in the Kamenica region of Kosovo. All simulations were performed with accurate data for wind generators, cables, transformers, and lines. The aim is to study the levels of fault currents with different combinations of wind generators in parallel operation. It is a part of a thorough analysis of the impact of the renewable electricity production entities on the electric power system (EPS) of Kosovo.
