Abstract

Objective To Analyze the serum TGF-β1 levels in cerebral trauma affiliating bone fracture patients and discuss the effects of TGF-β1 on cerebral trauma accelerating fracture healing. Methods 27 cerebral trauma and fracture patients, 36 fracture patients and 32 cerebral trauma patients were observed, The levels of TGF-β1 were detected by ELISA method on the days of 1,3, 7, 14 after trauma. There were also 20 normal serums as control. Results The serum TGF-β1 levels in cerebral trauma affiliating bone fracture patients were significantly lower than those in simple fracture or cerebral trauma patients(P 0.05). Conclusion TGF-β1 may play an important role in cerebral trauma accelerating fracture healing, The decrease of serum TGFβ1 levels maybe one mechanism of cerebral trauma accelerating fracture healing.
