Abstract

Resin mortars and concretes have high water resistance and very good resistance to aggressive environment. For this reason, they are often used as repair or waterproof layers e.g. in tanks for liquids. Materials used in this regard should be characterized by relatively low shrinkage and high adhesion to a substrate. The research program was carried out on selected resin mortars composed of quartz sand and a two-component epoxy resin of high viscosity and adhesion to substrate. The shrinkage development of tested resin mortars was analyzed in the paper. The tests were conducted in automatic measurement system, so-called gutters. In this device the whole volume changes (both expansion and shrinkage) can be measured starting from the moment when material is placed into gutter. The resin mortar adhesion to a concrete substrate was also tested and discussed in the paper.
