Abstract

In this paper, a planar antenna with a parasitic element for a metal-mountable UHF RFID tag is presented. The parasitic element is placed next to the fed antenna along its long side, far from the feeding point of the fed antenna. The bandwidth in the reading range of this tag antenna can be extended by increasing the electrical length of the parasitic element. In this regard, the frequency zone in which the gain is depressed must be avoided.
