Abstract

The full-wave analysis of a non-leaky conductor-backed coplanar waveguide fed rectangular microstrip patch, based on the moment method in spectral domain, is presented along with the relevant Green's functions. The results of the analysis are verified with the experimental results. The effect of CPW-slot and coupling aperture dimensions is also studied theoretically and experimentally. The comparison of this arrangement with existing patch feeding arrangements is also presented given the interest in integrating microwave circuits and patch antenna elements, to form microstrip arrays.
