Abstract

Transcutaneous Electrical Never Stimulation (TENS) has been applied in many fields, in order to obtain a better effect, nerve model and subcutaneous electric field distribution models under TENS have been extensively studied. In this paper, a two-layer simplified model under point current source was proposed to analyze the distribution of electric filed on the forearm using electrical imaging method. According to the potential expression, the potential distribution was drawn and assessed, the potential distribution shows nonuniform in the different tissue layer, and the skin layer accounts for more potential which means TENS can hardly influence the deep tissue on the forearm. Then, with the combination of nerve model, activating function was calculated and the activating function distribution in subcutaneous tissue layer was shown in the graph.
