Abstract

The overarching objective of our project that was taken up under India Digital Heritage (IDH) was conjectural visualization of bazaar streets of Hampi, a metropolis of Vijayanagara period. Architectural and social life reconstruction formed the two main spines of the project. The social life reconstruction was taken up under two broad areas: one being the study of clothing and material culture; the second being visualization of the bazaar street scenarios. The area of clothing and material culture required the research study and analysis of clothing style of Vijayanagara period. This chapter will outline the process and methodology of arriving at visualizations of clothing style of Vijayanagara period through study and analysis of textual narratives, murals, stucco work and relief work of this period.
