  • Angga Putra + 2 more

The agropolitan area in Trenggalek Regency is one of the regional development programs that began in 2006.The objectives of this study are 1) Determining the hierarchical structure of growth and service centers in an agropolitan area, 2) Determining superior commodities that can be developed in an agropolitan area, 3) Knowing perceptions and levels of community participation as well as the factors that influence it in an effort to increase active community participation as the main actor in agropolitan area development. The research location was determined purposively. This study uses two types of data, namely primary data and secondary data. The analytical methods used in this research are 1) scalogram analysis, 2) Location Quotient / LQ analysis, 3) non-parametric chi-square statistical analysis. Based on the schalogram analysis of villages in the agropolitan area in Trenggalek Regency, it is obtained a hierarchy of regions in the agropolitan area in Trenggalek Regency, so that Tasikmadu, Pule, Jombok and Sumurup Villages are the centers of growth and service centers while the development areas of Karanggandu Village, Prigi, Watulimo, Sawahan, Watuagung, Sidomulyo, Tanggaran, and Dompyong are agropolitan areas. While other development areas, namely the Dukuh, Slawe, Gemaharjo, Pakel, Ngembel, Puyung, Joho, Kembangan, Pakel, Masaran, Sengon, Srabah, Surenlor and Botoputih development areas are hinterland areas. Based on the results of the LQ analysis, the agropolitan area in Trenggalek Regency has 34 (thirteen) commodities that have an LQ value of more than 1: leaves, potatoes, mustard greens, long beans, large chilies, bird's eye chilies, green beans and chayote, c) Fruit crop subsectors: avocado, star fruit, duku, durian, guava, water guava, orange siem, large orange, mangosteen, jackfruit, papaya, rambutan, salak, sapodilla and soursop, d) Sub-sector of plantation crops: Patchouli, sugarcane, cocoa, cloves, coffee, vanilla and cottonwood. The level of public perception towards agropolitan programs is relatively poor. The level of community participation in agropolitan programs is relatively low. The intrinsic factors that have a real influence on the level of participation are income and land area, while the extrinsic factors are socialization, assistance, openness of government, program suitability and benefits. Increasing community participation can be done by improving the factors that have a real influence.

SUPERIOR COMMODITY POTENTIAL OF HORTICULTURE AGROBUSSINESS AND DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY IN SOUTH HALMAHERA REGENCY. This study was conducted to evaluate the potential of the horticulture superior commodity, growth structure, relation of farm income and to define strategy formulation of superior commodity development in South Halmahera regency. Study was done using survey approach on location basis of horticulture superior commodity. Location was defined by multistage random sampling in South Halmahera regency. Samples were taken by purposive sampling method, based on the criteria including the stakeholders of horticulture commodity spreading around research location. Data were analyzed using Location Quotient (LQ) method comparing the regency PDRB and the province PDRB, using localization coefficient (αi) by defining growth structure of commodity focusing on either one areal or not; using specialization coefficient on one or more of commodities at one certain areal location, using Basic Service Ratio (BSR, the comparison of commodity basis and non basis of commodity, and SWOT analysis formulating the internal and external strategy. Based on LQ analysis, commodities of red pepper, lanseh and durian fruits had LQ value > 1, indicating that these commodities were categorized sector basis and tomato commodity LQ < 1 included into non basis sector or inferior commodity. Analysis of αi indicated that horticulture commodity was not concentrated into one location of region. In addition, analysis of , indicated that commodity of horticulture sub sector was not focused on one commodity. Analysis of BSR indicated that BSR value varied from one year to the other next year, such as in year of 2009 was 5.38, year of 2012 was 7.41 and year of 2013 was 10.22. The BSR > 1 indicated that correlation between sector basis of commodity contributed positively on development of non basis sector of commodity, while year of 2010 was 0.77 and year of 2011 was 0.833. Value of BSR < 1 was indicating negative contribution of commodity sector basis on non basis sector, especially in South Halmahera regency. Based on analysis results, the average income of each respondent for tomato was IDR 33,843,720.-; red pepper was IDR 10,782,350.- ; lanseh fruit was IDR 43,074,200.- and durian fruit was IDR 75,838,040.-. Development strategies based on SWOT analysis were (1) increase of product and agricultural commodity quality, (2) Focused and clearly political will of government, (3) Increase of farmer resource, (4) Self seedling development training, (5) Government regulation on prohibiting exploration of the agricultural potential areas, (6) Increasing activity of the industrial and trade office on easily market information, (7) Effective utilization of productive areas, (8) Collaboration between government and private entrepreneurship, (9) Adoption of modern agricultural technology, (10) Optimizing of the function of economical institution (corporation institution) and banking institution, and (11) Optimizing the role of field agricultural extension. Therefore, based on this research, it can be concluded that South Halmahera regency had high potential of superior commodity of the horticulture sub sector that can be developed due to higher supporting of potential location areas. Key words: Superior commodity, horticulture sub sector, SWOT analysis, South Halmahera regency.

Agropolitan Development Strategy Based Food Crops and Fisheries in Banjar Regency South Kalimatan Province
  • Nov 22, 2024
  • International Journal of Research and Review
  • Fitri Mahyudi + 2 more

The agricultural and fisheries sector's role in increasing food supplies can also increase income through export activities. The development of metropolitan areas is expected to increase development based on agriculture and fisheries, where the contribution of the agricultural and fisheries sectors to GRDP is relatively small. The purpose of this study is to analyze the superior commodities of food crops and fisheries in the context of developing agropolitan areas, selecting agropolitan development areas through the availability of facilities and infrastructure in production center areas, and formulating agropolitan area development strategies. The research results show that rice and tilapia are superior commodities to be developed in agropolitan implementation in Banjar Regency. This can be seen from the LQ value obtained for rice and tilapia commodities which are greater than one, while corn and catfish have great potential to be developed and soybean commodities still do not have the potential to be developed or are not yet a basis where the value for these commodities is less than one. Banjar Regency has greater potential to be developed as a growth center or service center in the development of agropolitan areas in Banjar Regency because it has a more complete type and number of supporting facilities, and has competitive advantages to compete to become a new agropolitan area in South Kalimantan Province. The strategy for developing agropolitan areas in this research is to build agricultural and fisheries facilities and infrastructure (sub-terminal agribusiness) and strengthen capital institutions. • Tama Hariansyah Putra + 1 more

Belitang Sub-district is one of the sub-districts in Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Timur Regency which has competitive agricultural potential and potential to develop as an agropolitan area. However, Belitang Sub-district has problems in infrastructure and distribution facilities between sub-districts. This research aims to formulate the spatial directions for developing an agropolitan area in Belitang District. Data was collected through agency surveys, observations, interviews, and literature reviews. Data analysis techniques used in this study are land suitability scoring analysis, Location Quotient (LQ) analysis, and Scalogram analysis. The study revealed that Belitang Sub-district was included as one of the highest economic value areas in OKU Timur Regency and positioned as the center of the Independent Integrated City strategy area. This condition could support the development of an agropolitan area in Belitang Sub-district. The development of agropolitan areas should be directed at improving the condition of facilities and infrastructure, such as road networks and economic facilities to support the integration of upstream and downstream agropolitan activities.
