Abstract

Abstract Rational design of efficient Pd-based electrocatalysts is significant for the improvement of their performances for ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR). In this study, core-shell Au@Pd nanodendrites (Au@Pd NDs) were fabricated by a facile and efficient seed-media growth approach at room temperature. The core-shell Au@Pd NDs exhibited better electrocatalytic activity toward EOR in alkaline media, which was 2.34 times higher than that of the commercial Pd/C. The improvement of activity was attributed to the bimetallic synergistic effect and interaction between Pd shell and Au core nanostructure.
