Abstract

This paper presents the analysis, design and implementation of a high voltage full bridge isolated DC-DC series resonant converter with a symmetrical hybrid quadrupler suitable for powering Radio Frequency (RF) transmitters. A symmetrical hybrid quadrupler circuit based rectifier is proposed for rectification and high voltage gain. Different modes of operation for the full bridge series resonant converter with quadrupler rectifier is analyzed and discussed. Simulation studies of the proposed converter have been carried out. A prototype of 270 V input, 4 kV output with 400 W is implemented for medium power RF transmitter to validate theoretical and simulated claims.
