Abstract
Student affairs play a crucial role in higher education institutions in university education. This paper aims to elucidate the development history and characteristics of student affairs management in universities at home and abroad, proposing some experiences that Chinese universities can draw upon. It advocates for the establishment of the concepts of “serving students” and “developing students,” with a focus on addressing students’ needs and fostering their growth. It emphasizes enhancing students’ self-management abilities and nurturing their autonomy and sense of responsibility.
