Analisis Penerapan Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP) dan Disiplin Kerja dalam Meningkatkan Efektivitas Kinerja Karyawan
This study aims to analyze the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work discipline in improving employee performance effectiveness at PT. HATNI, a company engaged in fish processing and freezing. The research focuses on the security and production divisions, employing a qualitative method through observation and in-depth interviews with management and employees. The findings indicate that the absence of a structured SOP in the security division has led to inconsistent task execution and low levels of work discipline. Furthermore, the lack of formal training in the production division hinders the improvement of employee skills and motivation. This research resulted in the design of an SOP for the security division and recommendations for regular training programs in the production division. The implementation of these two strategies is expected to enhance discipline, productivity, and overall employee performance effectiveness, while strengthening the human resource management system at PT. HATNI.

Prehospital anaesthesia is a complex intervention performed for critically ill patients. To minimise complications, a standard operating procedure (SOP) outlining the process is considered valuable. We investigated the implementation of an SOP for prehospital anaesthesia in helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS). We performed a retrospective observational study of patients receiving prehospital anaesthesia by Finnish HEMS from January 2012 to August 2019. The intervention studied was the implementation of an SOP at two of the five bases during 2015-2016. Patients were stratified according to whether they were anaesthetised before, during or after implementation and the primary outcomes were 1- and 30-day mortality. Secondary outcomes included anaesthesia quality indicators. Confounding factors was assessed via logistic regression. A total of 3902 tracheal intubations were performed without an SOP, 430 during implementation and 1525 after implementation. The SOP had a significant effect on 1-day mortality during implementation with an odds ratio (OR) of 0.56, 95% confidence interval (95% CI) 0.37-0.81 and a further trend towards benefit after implementation (OR 0.84, 95% CI 0.68-1.04), but no difference in 30-day mortality (OR after implementation 1.10, 95% CI 0.92-1.30). Implementation of an SOP improved first-pass success rate from 87.3% to 96.5%, p < 0.001. Implementation of an SOP for prehospital anaesthesia was associated with a trend towards lower 1-day mortality and an improved first-pass success but did not affect 30-day mortality. Despite this, we advocate prehospital systems to consider implementation of a prehospital anaesthesia SOP as immediate performance markers improved significantly.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Uganda confirmed the first case of COVID-19 on 21st March, 2020, which led to the first total lockdown in the country. During the lockdown, some factories remained operational; hence, there is a need for a study aimed at assessing the level of adherence to COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) in factories as a mitigator for the pandemic. A cross-sectional study to assess compliance of factories to COVID-19 SOPs was conducted in Wakiso, Mukono, Buikwe, and Jinja districts during the month of September, 2021. This involved visitation of factories and collection of data using the KoboCollect tool by interviewing general managers as well as human resource managers of the factories. A total of 39 factories were included in the study and were categorized into four major groups; food and beverages (15), plastics (5), construction (8), and others (11). Data analysis was done using STATA version 14.2. Overall adherence to COVID-19 SOPs by the factories was 64.1% (95% CI = 49.1-79.1). Communication and training of employees (79.5%; 95% CI = 66.8-92.2), wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and respiratory protection (79.5%; 95% CI = 66.8-92.2) as well as enhanced cleaning and disinfection of surfaces (74.4%; 95% CI = 60.6-88.1) were the most implemented SOPs in the factories. Implementation of the SOPs was the highest in Mukono district (88.9%; 95% CI = 68.4-100) and the least in Wakiso district (40.0%; 95% CI = 9.6-70.4). The COVID-19 SOPs were followed mostly in construction material factories (87.5%; 95% CI = 64.6-100) and least in food and beverage factories (40%; 95% CI = 15.2-64.8). There was no significant difference in the adherence of COVID-19 SOPs among the districts (X2 = 5.02 and P=0.17) and factories (X2 = 7.04 and P=0.07). Although good overall adherence to SOPs noted was not dependent on location and type of factory, adherence to some SOPs such as exposure control plan, presence of signages on COVID-19, maintenance of social distance, and implementation of a health control plan varied with location of the district. Likewise, exposure control plan, signages on COVID-19, and maintenance of social distance varied significantly with the type of factory. This study revealed moderately good overall adherence to COVID-19 SOPs by factories, with variations in the level of implementation of individual SOPs being observed.

Appendectomy is the most frequent emergency abdominal operation in children, who regularly present with complicated acute appendicitis and thus need targeted antibiotic therapy. While in other fields antibiotic stewardship (ABS) is becoming increasingly well established, these principles are not consistently followed in pediatric surgery. With this study, we aimed to analyze the effects of the implementation of an ABS-compliant SOP on the postoperative care of patients. We compared the quality of antibiotic therapy before and after the implementation of standard operating procedure (SOP) for the peri-/postoperative antibiotic treatment of appendicitis in 2020. Pediatric patients who had undergone appendectomy were evaluated based on an algorithm presenting recommended antibiotic therapy of appendicitis, according to the current literature and good clinical practice. 165 patients were evaluated before and 209 patients after the implementation of SOP. The mean number of cases in which antibiotic therapy was given postoperatively was 10.5% lower (p-value 0.036) and the median quality-of-treatment score increased by 31.2% (p<0.0001) after the implementation of the SOP. The median length of antibiotic treatment in cases of advanced-stage appendicitis was 2.0 days shorter (p=0.062). The rate of oral antibiotic treatment after discharge decreased by 25.6% (p<0.0001). We observed no significant effects on the median length of hospital stay or the complication rate. The implementation of SOP based on the principles of ABS positively influenced the quality of treatment after pediatric appendectomy. The algorithm developed in this study may help pediatric surgeons to improve their antimicrobial assessment.

The implementation of SOP (Standard Operational Procedures) in university library is needed to improve the service quality. The arrangement of SOP in University library includes four stages. The first is analysis of SOP needs. The beginning step in arranging of SOP is by analyzing SOP that will be created. Furthermore, the SOP that created depends on the ongoing work condition and procedures. The second is the development of SOP. Because of the change of internal and external organization of university library, SOP also has to change. The third is implementation of SOP. In implementing SOP, it is hoped that there is a balance between the availability of SOP, that organizes the operational activity of university library, and the human resources, that have professional behavior in arranging the library. The fourth is observation and evaluation. In order to implement SOP properly, it should be assessed by reviewers. These four steps are done in sequence to produce SOP that is appropriate to field needs for supporting the completeness of integrated quality management in university library. Therefore, the standard service quality of library can be measured by having SOP. Thus, the service quality which is given to visitors can be determined based on SOP. The current research focuses on the effectiveness of the implementation of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to improve service quality in Sis Collection, a cosmetics retailer located in the city of JCity Medan Johor, during the year 2025. The study follows a descriptive quantitative design, and data are gathered using a structured questionnaire that was given to five employees in the store. The domain of the study is to determine whether SOPs lead to efficiency, consistency, and customer satisfaction in day-to-day service delivery. The empirical evidence has shown that most of the employees view SOPs as useful in providing faster and more organized services, especially when dealing with customer complaints. Employees reported that SOPs minimize mistakes, provide a more orderly workflow and build confidence in working with customers. Nevertheless, there are still difficulties, since not all staff members said they were properly exposed to SOPs, and procedures were not actively communicated and enforced in a consistent way. Such gaps highlight the significance of ongoing training and regular distribution of SOP guidelines to maintain consistency in their usage throughout the organization. Overall, the findings suggest that SOPs have significant potential to improve the quality of service; however, their performance depends on their regular use and continued organizational investment in employees.

IntroductionThe purpose of this study was to investigate the creation, implementation, and harmonisation of medical Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in Finnish Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS). The research questions are: (1) What factors influence the creation and implementation of medical SOPs for Finnish HEMS units? and (2) What can be done to harmonise the medical SOPs of Finnish HEMS units?MethodsThe research was conducted as a qualitative interview study with HEMS physicians who worked full-time in Finnish HEMS units or had worked in HEMS for more than five years. Three HEMS physicians from each of the six HEMS units in Finland participated in the study (n = 18). The thematic interviews (average duration 32 min) were transcribed (70,176 words in Finnish) and analysed using inductive content analysis.ResultsThe results of the first research question formed three main categories: (1) Background to developing medical SOPs and checklists (CLs), (2) Creation of medical SOPs in Finnish HEMS units, and (3) Implementation of medical SOPs and CLs. The main categories were divided into eight upper categories and twelve subcategories. The results of the second research question formed four main categories: (1) Prerequisites for harmonising procedures, (2) System-level changes needed, (3) Integrating common medical SOPs into HEMS, and (4) Cultural change. The main categories were divided into nine upper categories and nine subcategories.ConclusionsMedical SOPs and CLs are an integral part of Finnish HEMS. Each unit creates its own SOPs and CLs; their development, implementation, and follow-up are relatively unstructured. Harmonising existing SOPs would be possible, but developing common SOPs would require structural changes in HEMS and a stronger sense of community belonging among HEMS physicians.
