The analysis of nepotism management in Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) aims to examine the impact of nepotistic practices on human resource management in these educational institutions. This study uses a literature review method, examining various sources related to pesantren management, nepotism, and human resource management principles. The literature review findings show that nepotism in Islamic boarding schools often occurs in the recruitment and promotion of teachers and staff. While this practice may preserve loyalty and traditional values, it can hinder innovation, professionalism, and the quality of education. The long-term effects of nepotism include weakened organizational efficiency and individual performance. Therefore, this study recommends the implementation of a competency-based and accountable management system, emphasizing transparency to improve the quality and effectiveness of human resource management in Islamic boarding schools.

This law is crucial for advancing and protecting the existence of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. Therefore, a thorough understanding of this law is essential for the management of boarding schools to run their organization effectively and support the quality of education provided. The results of the study show that the management of Pondok Pesantren Nurussalam Walisongo Gomang has a relatively good understanding of the core substance of Law No. 18 of 2019. However, there are still areas that need improvement, particularly in the technical aspects of implementing the regulation, such as funding and human resource management in the pesantren. Strengthening the capacity of the management in this regard is not limited to theoretical understanding but also practical application in the daily activities of the pesantren. By fully understanding the regulation, the management can be more effective in carrying out their duties, improving the quality of education, and strengthening the pesantren’s position in the national education system. Overall, this study contributes to the development of the capacity of the management of Islamic boarding schools, specifically in understanding and implementing Law No. 18 of 2019. In the future, it is expected that there will be synergy between the government, pesantren, and the community to enhance the role of pesantren in producing morally upright and high-quality generations.

  • Huang Xiaofang + 1 more

In the context of global educational reform, effective human resource management (HRM) has become essential for enhancing educational quality. Yet, institutions worldwide face persistent challenges in three critical areas: teacher recruitment, professional development, and leadership succession. This study investigates primary and secondary schools, universities, and vocational institutions across three representative Chinese regions, including the eastern coastal area (Zhejiang), the central region (Hunan), and the western frontier (Guizhou). Employing a rigorous mixed-methods approach, it combines quantitative questionnaires (300 teachers, 80 HR staff, 40 leaders), semi-structured interviews (25 participants), and case studies of six diverse institutions. By triangulating teacher needs, institutional practices, and regional policy constraints, the research systematically examines HRM challenges within China’s specific educational context, including the “Double Reduction” policy and vocational education reform. Unlike general HRM studies, it highlights China-specific issues, such as urban-rural talent disparities and the tension between traditional teaching practices and modern educational technology. The findings inform targeted strategies, enriching HRM theory with Chinese characteristics and providing practical guidance to improve institutional efficiency and educational quality.

Human Resource Management (HRM) in schools is a crucial element in advancing the quality of education. In the era of digital transformation, human resource management faces new challenges, particularly related to the adaptation of technology in the learning and administrative processes. This research discusses HRM in schools with a focus on the application of digital technology in managing educational and administrative staff. Digitalization brings significant changes in the ways recruitment, training, and performance management are conducted, by utilizing technology-based management systems such as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS). However, challenges such as resistance to change, digital competence gaps, limited infrastructure, and lack of policy support become obstacles in the implementation of digital transformation in schools. Therefore, strategies such as developing digital competence for educators, implementing technology-based systems, and strengthening digital policies and infrastructure are necessary for effective digitalization in schools. The implementation of these strategies is expected to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HRM and improve the quality of education in the digital era.
