Abstract

An ultra-wideband polarization reconfigurable slot antenna based on liquid metal (LM) is proposed. The Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) structure with microchannels are loaded on the upper and lower sides of the Rogers5880, to provide conditions for polarization reconfiguration. The left-hand circular polarization (LHCP), right-hand circular polarization (RHCP), and linear polarization (LP) are achieved by injecting LM into microchannels in different directions. The simulation results show that the proposed antenna achieves - 10dB impedance bandwidth of 81.5% (2.29-5.44GHz) in LP state, -10dB impedance bandwidth of 48.3% (2.78-4.55GHz) and 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) of 51.1% (2.61-4.40GHz) in CP state.
