Abstract

Online content syndication is a viral engine for the blogosphere. RSS feeds, hyperlinks, and ubiquitous news aggregators enable web syndication to accelerate the transfer of previously inaccessible personal and tacit knowledge and competences into publicly shared, extensively archived, and searchable web documents, images, podcasts, and video.Syndication feeds have become a standard tool on the Web. This paper presents an overview of the web syndication formats and it is organized into the following sections: introduction, RSS creation and validation, processing RSS files, use cases, similar technologies and conclusions.
