Abstract

With a view to wireless sensor networks, this paper formulates the objective of mobile agent route in terms of maximizing an objective function, which prefers the paths with higher signal accumulation, lower energy consumption, path loss and delay. Further, a genetic algorithm is proposed to compute such an optimal mobile agent route solution by suitably employing a two-level encoding schema and genetic operators tailored to the objective function. The simulation results show that the genetic algorithm has a superior overall performance over other existing algorithms and its advantage becomes more evident as the nodes size increases.
