Abstract

Chapter 2 discusses an integrative approach to reducing the risk of cancer, including genetic predisposition and lifetime exposures, conventional approaches to cancer risk reduction, complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) approaches to cancer risk reduction, non-Western systems of healing such as Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, Tibetan medicine, and Native American medicine, and how an integrative approach to cancer risk reduction encourages individuals to make healthy lifestyle choices, use appropriate cancer-screening technologies, and achieve and maintain a sense of wellness and balance.
