Abstract

In the decade, the video phone has brought the intense interests for its service. However, the limited network bandwidth, the unfriendly operation (IP dialing), and the dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) environment bound the development of video phone. An innovative data transmission architecture has been presented for video phone systems in this paper, especially the advantage of operating in the DHCP environment. The proposed video phone system retains the traditional dialing way with telephone number and downward capability with the recent analog telephone. So that users can enjoy the video phone in their used operations.
