Abstract

An electrocardiography (ECG) monitoring system that can be implanted using a syringe is considered in this chapter. Noise reduction and circuit design approaches for the analog front-end are required. 31nA current usage, while using the least amount of energy computing method at the digital backend, cuts digital energy consumption in half40 percent. In investigations using an ECG simulator on a live sheep and a heart from an isolated sheep, the recommended SoC in 65nm CMOS technology uses 65nW and successfully identifies cardiac arrhythmia (atrial fibrillation) and memorizes the abnormal waveform.
