Abstract
A major task in today's automotive industry is the enhancement of comfort and safety. Thus driver assistance systems are a current topic in research and development. As assistance systems based on image processing facilitate a wide range of applications, camera systems in vehicles become necessary. This report presents an inertially stabilised camera platform for use in vehicles. First experiments during test drives are described using the presented system in combination with a lane tracking algorithm. However, being a universal platform for different purposes, a large number of future applications can be realised based on the described system.
