Abstract

The traditional matrix algorithm for fault location of distribution network is complex. Fault information distortion or missing information will cause the positioning error. Based on the principle of net-shaped matrix, a new algorithm for fault location in distribution network is put forward. The algorithm is good at accurate positioning in complex grid for not only a single fault or multiple faults, but also the faults of feeder ends. Meanwhile, it use the direction of the trend as a positive direction while the network is in normal operation, which makes the fault locationing easier. And the solutions are given for dealing with the fault information missing or information distortion. The simulation result shows that the algorithm reduces the location's search times effectively, and it has good ability of fault tolerance.
