Abstract

The Schiff base polynucleating copolymer ligand, P-dhtenH 2 is synthesized from 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalaldehyde and ethylenediamine. An insoluble polynuclear manganese(III)-Schiff base complex, [Mn 3+ n (P-dhten)(OAc) n is prepared by refluxing manganese(III) acetate and the polymeric Schiff base, P-dhtenH 2 in ethanol. This polynuclear manganese complex is used as catalyst for hydrogen peroxide decomposition.
