Abstract
This article focuses on the direct shear bond strength between steel and fresh cast concrete without any mechanical shear connectors. Push out tests were carried out to investigate the shear bond strength between steel and concrete with aid of structural adhesive. Application of epoxy on fresh concrete is a challenge and rare information is available. Therefore, various parameters including timing of application of epoxy, free water content, superplasticiser effect and steel surface profile were studied to show their influence on the bond performance.
