Abstract

A series expansion is derived for the velocity potential of a three-dimensional oscillatory source beneath a free surface in deep water. The series is convergent uniformly throughout the fluid domain, and is computationally efficient if the distance between the source and field points is small or moderate. When this distance approaches zero, the free-surface integral is logarithmically singular.
