Abstract
This paper presents an energy-stored quasi-z source converter (qZSC) which functions as an interlinking converter (IC) to coordinate the control of hybrid AC/DC microgrids. The IC possesses all features of qZSC, such as one-stage converter, continuous input current, and etc. Furthermore, the IC integrates energy storage without introducing additional interface converters, so it can function as an energy hub to provide power support to both DC and AC sub-microgrids. Different operating modes of the proposed IC are analyzed based on the power demand of individual sub-microgrids as well as the state of charge (SOC) of energy storage systems (ESSs). In addition, an effective control scheme is presented to coordinate the power flow of the overall system. Three example cases are studied, and simulation results validate the proposed IC and its control scheme.
