Abstract

This letter presented a novel routing method to improve the energy efficiency among different clusters during intercluster routing decision making. To this end, the theory of energy welfare was applied to promote energy equality. Besides, the compressive sensing (CS) theory was utilized in intracluster data acquisition to further reduce data redundancy. Subsequently, an energy-efficient routing based on CS from the perspective of social welfare was proposed. Finally, extensive experiments were conducted and the numerical results verified its effectiveness on improving the energy efficiency and prolonging the network lifetime of wireless sensor networks.
