Abstract
Increasingly, organizations are using the Baldrige Award criteria and Baldrige Award-like self-assessment processes as a management framework to guide continuous improvement. Little empirical evidence exists, however, regarding the effectiveness of the self-evaluation processes. This article reports on a study of the Minnesota Quality Award evaluation process. The study focuses on the impact of examiner experience and scoring process on evaluation of the application.
