Abstract

Economic crisis is both a challenge and a chance for manufacturing enterprises of the Pearl River Delta facing the industrial upgrading. This article is a very good reference for enhancing competitive advantage which is on an empirical study of the relationship between corporate strategy, manufacturing flexibility and performance. This paper reviews competitive strategy of enterprise and shows relationship between corporate strategy, manufacturing flexibility and performance. Then, this paper makes empirical tests of hypotheses with data of the Pearl River Delta manufacturing enterprises. The results shows firms following differentiation strategy should develop mix flexibility and firms following a cost leadership strategy should develop internal flexibility and volume flexibility.
