Abstract
Summary An electron microscopical study of the cerebral cortex of the calf shows that the components of the cerebral cortex at ultrastructural level are the same as those of the other mammalian species so far studied. This contributes to the view that the ultrastructure of the cerebral cortex (at the magnification it can be studied at present) is similar in all vertebrates. The present investigation also serves as a basis for a comparison with pathological changes.
