Abstract

A qualitative study has been made of the diffusion and reactivity of a number of metals in thin films of amorphous arsenic triselenide. Aluminium appears to be the least mobile or reactive metal and is suitable as an electrode material. Silver and copper react and can form precipitates in the films. The results are of interests in connection with the electrical conductivity of doped chalcogenide glasses.
