Abstract

Nowadays in Myanmar, Yangon city has trouble that traffic congestions are happened on every place. There is risk of burden because of hard up or low traffic management and due to traffic congestion. The paper intend Yangon city become Smart city like Bangkok, Singapore have smart route on the good roads and the best management system. In this paper the system is to analyze and avoid traffic congestions and get optimal route with modified A* algorithm, also called Light-A*. This includes the run-time traffic data from GPS enabled mobile and historical data in the database. In the system firstly, we take the GPS data (current location) and search traffic congested area between source and destination points of user by R tree. Second, search the traffic congestion data in that area by Google Traffic layer. And then we match traffic data to reduce ambiguous limited accuracy. Finally, calculate optimal route by A* and then show the result that best optimal route to the user.
