Abstract

Infrared small target detection with good detection accuracy and small false alarm rate is necessary and crucial in the infrared search and track (IRST) system. In this paper, a weighted accommodative scale local contrast measure (WASLCM) based on the properties of the human visual attention is proposed for detecting the infrared small target in the various background. The result of WASLCM can highlight the target intensity and restrain the background clutter simultaneously which make contribution to extract the true target from the jamming objects. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can detect the infrared small target effectively with promising detection accuracy and small false alarm rate.
